Manito Park: Visitors and residents alike enjoy Manito Park. Established in a quiet, residential area of the city the park has conservatories, formal gardens, a Japanese garden, and multiple places to rest and appreciate the many cultivated lilacs and other flora throughout the well-tended spaces of Manito. There are guided tours with reservations, or just pick up a garden map at the Geiser Conservatory and find your own way. One hundred acre Riverfront Park is an urban oasis of greenery and fun. The new gondola ride takes visitors across the river for the city’s closest views of the river gorge and Spokane Falls area.
Riverfront Park: A floating stage, gift shop, train rides, carousel and IMAX Theater are all part of Riverfront Park. The park’s Ice Palace skating rink is considered one of the finest outdoor rinks in the nation. Also found here are bumper cars, Ferris wheel, roller coaster and many organized festivals and community events throughout the year. The US’s longest timed road race, Bloomsday, finishes here each spring.
Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture: The Northwest Museum has five galleries focused on Native American art and culture and regional history. There is an outdoor amphitheater, community room and museum store. Admission is $7.
St. John’s Cathedral: For a guided tour through the Gothic Cathedral of St. John stop by Monday, Thursday or Saturday between noon and 3pm.
Bing Crosby Museum: The Bing Crosby museum on the campus of Gonzaga University celebrates the life of the legendary singer who was born and raised in Spokane. His numerous gold and platinum records are on display here and admission is free.
